Jiwa Jiwa Press is a letterpress print shop that was established in the heart of Portland, Oregon in 2009. After living in the Pacific Northwest for a decade, they relocated to Honolulu, Hawai'i and became a part of an artist collective at Lana Lane Studios formerly located in Kaka'ako.

Jiwa Jiwa Press prides itself in handcrafting quality, custom letterpress paper goods such invitations, baby announcements, business cards, and stationery.

When roughly translated in Japanese, Jiwa Jiwa means “slowly, but surely” or “little by little.”

Meet the Maker

Cherish Fuller
badass letterpress wizard

Cherish, a letterpress printer by trade, is the boss lady behind this little letterpress print shop. She resided for a decade in the Pacific Northwest where she honed in on her craft. In Honolulu you can catch her enjoying a good cuppa, checking out the latest art exhibits and films, biking around town, or in her backyard tending to her plants and running after her kiddo.

MEET OUR CAST IRON BEAU, HUGO

Hugo is a beautiful Gordon 10x15 treadle operated platen press. He is our big hitter, our hulk, and our main squeeze! He is well past his 100th birthday and we print 99.9% of all our goods on him. You'll fall in love with him just as we have once you get a glance of his old-style flywheel and gold trim.

Where I create, there I am true.

OUR ECO-STORY

All of our products are letterpress printed and assembled by hand in our studio in Honolulu, Hawai'i and we are pretty damn proud of that. We our eco-conscious and print only on 100% tree-free cotton paper. Our envelopes are made from recycled content paper from other eco-conscious (and wind-powered!) paper factories in the USA.

We are bettering our studio and the environment by proudly up-cycling our paper waste, using eco-friendly solutions for cleaning our presses, and hand-mixing just the right amount of ink for each project.
